Queen Elizabeth 2 faz amanhã a última escala no Porto do Funchal, em viagem de Bilbau para Tenerife. Após 38 anos de passagens pela Madeira, a ilha e os madeirenses despedem-se deste grande paquete, o último transatlântico construído de propósito para ligar a Europa à América. Para assinalar esta efeméride marítima, o Clube de Entusiastas de Navios preparou um conjunto de actividades. Um grupo de sócios desloca-se a bordo para fazer a última visita ao navio no Funchal oferecendo ao comandante um quadro com uma fotografia do QE2 na Madeira e com uma mensagem de agradecimento. Uma pequena exposição com fotografias, postais e livros do
Queen pode também ser apreciada no Molhe, no ponto de encontro do CEN. No culminar desta escala uma concentração de embarcações de recreio na Baía do Funchal pelas 17:45, 15 minutos antes da partida do
QE2. Os sócios e simpatizantes do CEN despedem-se do navio da Cunard a bordo da lancha
Tamisa, da Costa do Sol, que partirá da Marina do Funchal às 17:45 e que pode viajar connosco. Actividades promovidas pelo CEN em colaboração com a Agência Blandy ,representante da Cunard, e com Administração de Portos da Madeira.
Cunard´s Queen Elizabeth 2 will be tomorrow at Madeira island for the last time, in a cruise from Bilbau to Tenerife. The farewell of Queen Elizabeth 2 after 38 years visiting the island, the last transatlantic built for the north atlantic service. To register this maritime event, the Clube de Entusiastas de Navios - Madeira ship Club -prepared a set of activities. Members of the club will visit the ship offering to the captain a picture with a photograph of the QE2 in Funchal with a message of gratefulness. A small exihbition with photographs, postcards and books of the Queen can also be appreciated in Molhe, the point of meeting of the CEN. In culminating of this call a concentration of boats in Funchal Bay for the 17:45, 15 minutes before the departure of the QE2. The members of CEN say farewell to the ship of the Cunard on board the motor boat Tamisa, of the Costa do Sol, that will leave of the Marina of the Funchal to the 17:45 and you can travel with us. Activities promoted for the CEN in contribution with the Blandy Agency, representative of the Cunard, and with Administration of Ports of Madeira.
